Password Reset Issue Tips
Other Devices-Password Updates Required If you have any downloaded applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc...) on personal devices, make sure to update your credentials with your new password. This includes your mail on your iPhone/tablet. There are different ways to access your email, so just make sure you check your authentication on your devices to ensure that emails are being sent and received. SAVED Passwords in Browsers: Most password reset issues we’re seeing are caused by saved passwords in the internet browsers like Google Chrome. It’s highly recommended that you delete your saved passwords before resetting your password. Here is how to do that in Google Chrome. Open Chrome and Click the 3 vertical dots near the top right: Click Settings: Click Autofill Click “Password Manager” Under “Saved Passwords” click on the vertical dots and then click “Remove” for any and all entries that have your Shasta College Username. This includes variants such as: shastacc\, @shastacollege.edu>, Any entries with the site: pg1.shastacollege.edu, my.shastacollege.edu There may be several entries, delete all of them related to your SC username. You can now go back to the portal and reset your password. We recommend you do not continue to save Shasta College passwords into your browsers due to the known login issues it currently causes and will cause in the future, as well as the security risk it creates. If someone gained remote access to your account, they would have access to all passwords saved. Though it does seem convenient, it is not a secure way to save passwords.
