Password Reset Instructions
To reset your password, follow the instructions below: Please go to our new Portal at: https://my.shastacollege.edu Once there, click the link: Forgot account email or password? That link will provide a form, if you fill out the mandatory fields there, it will email you a temporary password for Portal and ask that you reset your password. Use your temporary password in the current password field when it asks you to update your password. Your new password must be at least 14 characters in length and cannot be a common phrase nor any portion of your name. You will need to set up your account recovery method, I have included a PDF on how to set that up using your cell phone as the recovery method, do not set up your recovery method as your Shasta College email account. Once you fill out the Recover Student Account form, you will receive an email with your temporary password. If you do not receive an email within 10 minutes, check your spam folder.

Setting up an Alternate Method instead of the Microsoft Authenticator App
When logging in for the first time to the new Shasta Portal, you’ll be prompted to set up your account recovery. Follow the steps below to choose your account recovery options to make sure your account stays secure. This method shows you how to set up an alternate method of recovery from the Microsoft Authenticator App. 1. Go to www.my.shastacollege.edu and sign in using your username@students.shastacollege.edu. Put in your current password and click Sign in. 2. Once you click Sign in, Microsoft will tell you more information is required, click Next. 3. The first option is to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app which is covered in here. If you don’t want to use the Microsoft Authenticator app, click the link for I want to set up a different method. 4. A popup box will appear asking you to choose the method you would like to use. Click the down arrow to show the drop down of the alternate methods. 5. For the alternative method I chose Email. 6. Once you choose Email (or Phone, if that’s what you prefer), another screen will ask you to enter an email address (or cell phone number) and click Next. Make sure to use one you have easy access to so that you can verify the code that will be sent in the next step. 7. Check your email inbox (or cell phone)) that you entered in the last step for the code that was sent over to verify your account. Once you have that code, enter it in the screen shown below and click Next. 8. Success! You’ve now completed setting up your account recovery options and can access your account. Click Done and you will be taken to your main Microsoft Office Dashboard
